St Thomas, Virgin Islands

We took a taxi bus to downtown St. Thomas and we had to stop for the lizards!!! Look careful, there are two lizards around.
A chicken with babies were wandering the street.
Their cemetery. They have limited land, being an island and all. So they put one on top of each other above ground.
More critters.
Pretty view from the ship as we were leaving.
We did not do much, just wandering a bit. They did have a Harley shop, but we did not find anything. There was ALOT of shopping and pushy salespeople trying to get you in.

St. Thomas, U.S.V.I. The lovely, European-influenced port of Charlotte Amalie wins the prize for Caribbean shopping thrills. Cameras, jewelry, watches, perfumes are all here. So are beautiful beaches, undersea gardens and tales of Blackbeard. Sample shore excursions: Sea Trekking Helmet Dive & Coral World; Champagne Catamaran Sail & Snorkel to St. John; St. Thomas Ocean Racing; Ultimate Island Experience.

We were going to do this, but......

5-Star St. John Snorkel & Beach Adventure *CANCELLED*
Duration: Approximately 4 hours From the moment you step on board the 115-foot Chesapeake Voyager, a beautiful replica of a 1930s-era Chesapeake Bay oyster buy boat, you will start to feel the beauty and history of the Caribbean. Sitting comfortably on deck in the shade, you'll glide effortlessly through turquoise waters on the way to the magnificent island of St. John and a private mooring in Trunk Bay. At Trunk Bay, whether in the water snorkeling, swimming or on the beach, you will be well looked after. A guide will be on hand to identify corals and fish, and bring you to and from the beach. After your time at the world-renowned Trunk Bay, use the freshwater showers and enjoy the fully licensed bar with light snacks available. A portion of this tour's profits goes to the Friends of the Virgin Islands National Park, the not-for-profit organization dedicated to protecting and preserving the Virgin Islands National Park.

So we wandered downtown a bit, had lunch and went back to the ship :) The rest of the day was sailing, a nap, supper, a bit of casino time and then good night sleep.

I must agree that it is a very beautiful island. My family and i were there for the Carnival festival in April and we had a ball. I noticed the burial grounds but the individuals were all related and requested it to be like that. Oh and the iguanas were visible, but they were mainly in grassy areas and were out to eat. I have noticed that they value all animal life too. I walked downtown and not all of the store owners were pushy. Hey, I managed to make a bargain, which is something that I couldn't have done in Kay's or Jared jewelry. Oh, and their jewelry is real, and it is an American Territory. It is a beautiful place. I must agree!!
